Moral Dilemma!!!!

So tonight at work we had a live music set and a pretty decent amount of people came in. After the band set up, I was in the dinning room busing a table when i spotted a bill on the floor by the counter. I picked it up, it was a twenty. I thought for a second about what I should do with the bill. I could 1.) yell out to the dinning room full of people "Who lost a twenty???" 2) or wait until someone asks if we found cash on the floor and if no one asks for it, keep it.
I went to the kitchen and boasted to my co-workers about finding a twenty were they insisted I should split it with them. My plan was to hold on to it until someone asked about it. However, I knew I absolutely would NOT be splitting it with my co-workers.
The end of the night rolls around and a certain co-worker splits tips. When we closed up...I went to gather my tips, to find that she hadn't cut me any tips (because I didn't split the twenty I found with her).
WHAT?!?!
So here lies the issue: 1) was it wrong for me to keep the twenty 2) was it also wrong for me to not split it with coworkers??

Enough ranting, recipe of the day!!!
Hummus
1 16 oz can chickpeas
juice 1/2 of a lemon
1 small clove garlic, minced
1/2 cup olive oil (more or less is fine, just add to your preferred consistency)

throw all the ingredients in a blender and enjoy!

  2. NO and NO! That's how most every situation like that gos. you find the item. you hold onto the item. after a certain amount of time elapses, the item is yours. Depending of course on said item. But generally speaking, nothing morally wrong with that. In fact, I guaruntee that if you announced that you found a twenty most ppl dining would exclaim "Finders keepers!" or something of that nature. And as far as your co-workers go.....you should call them petty little assholes. That's soooo ridiculous that they didn't split tips with you.

  3. At first I thought he was kidding when she told me to split the twenty with her...like OH picking on the new girl again. THe only thing I can think of is that perhaps they didnt think I found it on the floor.
And yeah, it was only a four hour shift so like prolly no more than ten bucks in tips. Still super lame she didnt cut me any.
